Work Performance and the Individual Task 2 * Productivity Productivity is the rate at which goods or services are produced especially output per unit of labour. A good appraisal systems can dramatically improve the productivity of a businesses employees, this can occur for a number of reasons. Firstly appraisals can improve the moral of an employee, if the appraisal is positive towards the employee then they will feel like the company needs them and therefore have more job security. This boost in moral could make the employee more enthusiastic and more committed to the business, and this will lead to a more relaxed working environment, where work can be carried out without pressure. A more comfortable and stress free worker means they are going to carry out their tasks to the best of their ability as efficiently as possible, therefore the productivity of the employee will improve.
