Motivation is an integral part of everyday life and is rarely acknowledged. There are one or more motivating factors behind every action and reaction experienced on a day-to-day basis. These are all very different in different situations; for example, those factors that motivate a mother to feed her child are different to those that motivate a student to sit an exam. The question this research will aim to answer is what factors motivate a successful employee? However before this question can be explored in depth there are certain other questions that must be addressed such as; what is a successful employee and how would this be measured?
