Human Resource Assignment The aim of this essay is to discuss the advantages of wider use of broadbanding pay schemes compared with traditional pay grading pay structures. The first part of my essay will outline the definitions of broadbanding and traditional pay grading structures. The body of the essay will include various examples; discuss the advantages of broadbanding and its application in organizations. The final part of the essay will compare broad banding with traditional pay structures and lastly I will summarise the key findings of broad banding at the end in the conclusion. A pay structure outlines the various levels of pay for jobs or groups of job by reference to their relative internal value as recognized by job evaluation and to external relativities as recognized by market rate surveys.
