Organisational effectiveness is the ability of an organisation to choose appropriate goals and achieve them. (Barthol, Martin, Tein and Matthews, 2001). Organisation is a social entity that is goal directed, is designed as deliberately structured and coordinated activity system, and is linked to the external environment (Daft, 2001: pg 12). Therefore, to understand the organizational effectiveness, first we have to understand the goals of an organisation. Every organisation will have its goals and it can be defined as the desired future state of the organisation. It is not easy to measure the effectiveness of an organisation. Organisations are large, diverse, and fragmented. They performed many activities, some intended and some unintended (Weick and Daft, 1982). Managers are the ones who determine how to measure the effectiveness of the organisations.
