That means a promoter who undertake an active part in forming company by buying property for company, taking lease for company, employing professional to set up company, buying shelf company, and buying goods for company. In Twycross v Grant (1877), the promoter is the person, who undertakes to set up company with reference to a given project and to set it going, and who take the necessary procedure to carry out that purpose.
