The aim of this essay is to analyze whether the term 'Golden Age' referring to the European growth during the years from 1950 to 1973 was justified as a term to describe Western Europe's economic history. In order to come to a complete understanding on why the years between 1950 and 1973 were characterized as being the Golden Age and to define whether the term was justified, it will be necessary to first examine the history of Western Europe at the time as well as the economical factors that ruled and took place.
