Sport Obermeyer MBA 806 Holly Reed Kassi Reynolds O'Brien Kimberly Wallace Scott Phillips Introduction Sport Obermyer, Ltd. is a fashion skiwear company, which was started in 1947, by Klaus Obermeyer, an emigrant from Germany. Klaus came to the US to teach ski lessons at the Aspen Ski School. During this time he found his students had an unfilled need for warm ski wear. In order to fulfill these needs, he began to import garments from Germany as well as engineer his own ski equipment to sell to his students. Sport Obermeyer now manufactures its high quality and fashionable sportswear at two manufacturing facilities one in Hong Kong and the other in China. Obermeyer is facing strong competition in the marketplace from their biggest competitor, Columbia, a high volume low price skiwear garment company. In order to stay competitive, Sport Obermeyer has now teamed with Obersport, a manufacturer of greige fabric, to try to strengthen their supply chain....
