Vivisection Speech GCSE Oral Good morning I am here to talk to you about vivisection. Imagine being pinned down, having your eyelids forced open, with no anaesthetic, being fully aware of what is happening to you, and having hazardous and toxic chemicals poured into your eyes. That is legal today in our society. My question to you is, is this acceptable? The definition of vivisection is "The act or practice of cutting into or otherwise injuring living animals, especially for the purpose of scientific research." Every year, thousands of new cosmetic, personal care and household products are introduced into the marketplace. Virtually all of them have been animal-tested at various stages of their development. Long before they appear on the shelves of shops, these products have gone through a long testing process that leaves millions of animals mutilated, burned, poisoned and gassed in unnecessary tests.
