Biology is the science of life. It is concerned with the physical characteristics and behaviors of organisms alive today and long ago, how they come into being, and what interactions they have with each other and their environments. Life has started on earth about 3.5-4.0 billion years ago. One of the central, organizing concepts in biology is that all life has descended from a common origin through a process of evolution. Evolutionary biology tried to process reconstructs the history of life Biologists organize and analyze evolutionary relationships by classifid them. This scientific classification refers to how biologist group and categorize extinct and living species of organisms. The earliest known system of classifying forms of life comes from the Greek philosopher Aristotle. Modern classifiation has its roots in the system of Carl Linnaeus, who grouped species according to shared physical characteristics.
