Why is drug abuse a difficult problem facing the IOC? In this essay I will be discussing problems, which face the IOC in the Olympics. The Olympics are the most watched sporting event in the world. Viewers from all over tune into see them. This means athletes will want to show that there country is the best and give the viewers something to watch. They may resort to drugs in order to show the audience fast times and higher jumps. There are many reasons for athletes taking drugs. Reasons in the past were communist countries such as Russia gave their athletes drugs in training camps in order to make them better. They did this so when the athlete got to the Olympics they would win the event. This would show the world that communism is the way to go.
