... Application of the peak-end effect to students at the University of Surrey. Abstract 20 university students were asked to rate their favourite song out of ten and then listen to either their favourite song four more times or listen to three other songs, then their favourite song once again. This was an ethical adaptation of Kahneman et al (1993) study of the peak-end effect. This hypothesis was that the former group would rate their favourite song lower the second time, however, the statistical analysis demonstrated that there was not sufficient statistical significance in terms of variance to support the hypothesis. However, these results are questionable as the opportunity sampling used lacks reliability or is not generalisable.
