Ethics Essay "Research should lead to a better understanding of ourselves and to the enhancement of the human condition and promotion of human welfare" All participants in psychological research have ethical rights, which must be followed throughout the research; there is a list of guidelines issued by the British Psychological Society. The participants in the research should have confidence in the investigators. Psychological investigators are potentially interested in all aspects of human behaviour and conscious experience. Due to the investigators having to follow the ethical guidelines there may be some areas of human experience and behaviour, which may be beyond reach of experiment, observation or any other form of psychological investigation. Ethical guidelines are necessary to clarify the conditions under which psychological research is acceptable.
