Development Anthropology. Term Paper. Simon Pearson 4002R342 Through the three day course we were able to gain an understanding of the concept of development and development anthropology. This paper will examine these concepts in the context of the materials we covered starting with a chronological explanation of development, its discourse and finally its future as a background to development anthropology in relation to development, globalization and localization. This paper will argue against development from a negative point of view, but in conclusion finds that in order to change the negative aspects of development, the role of development anthropology is of great importance. It is widely accepted that development, as a practice, began after the Second World War with President Truman's government first creating an aid package to assist Latin America calling the area "under-developed".
