Describe and discuss the behaviorist approach. Refer to at least one other approach. The behaviorist approach attempts to explain all rational and irrational behavior of humans in terms of learning. The approach focuses mainly on the assumption that we are shaped by our environment and social interactions with society. So, according to the approach, we become a person through our environment, however this suggest we as humans have no free will to act as we like. This also adds to the fact that the behaviorist approach is scientifical, and is supported by empirical data. This data is observable and based on the belief that our thoughts and internal emotions does not affect out behavior. According to the behaviorist approach we learn new behavior through classical and operant conditioning and are a result of a simple stimulus.
