SAQ Cognitive Perspective Outline and explain the Atkinson-Shiffrin Model of Memory (8 marks) The Atkinson and Shiffrin Model of Memory (1968) was a theory based upon the process of information absorbed through the senses and how it moves into the long-term memory. They concluded at first, that there were two memory stores, one of them being the short-term memory and the other, the long-term memory. Soon afterwards, there was a third store added to this model of memory. The sensory memory.
