That is the type of number sequence shown to the participants. The Dependent Variable was the error rate of the participants at the end of the experiment. The experiment was a within subjects design. Participants The participants used in this experiment were second year Master of Art and Bachelor of Science psychology students. Many of the participants were therefore relatively young, although there was the odd exception. Out of around one hundred participants, 60 subjects' data was chosen to be analysed. However, 12 of these were excluded from the final analysis leaving 48. The 48 subjects were chosen at random.
