How are we able to recognise an object from different viewpoints? The world is progressing at an alarming rate, with this progress comes a host of new objects. New shapes and new sizes, new objects which are unfamiliar to human eye are being developed all the time. But how do we recognise these objects, what processes are involved and how is an image of a table on the human retina somehow matched to stored information in the brain carrying that label. The argument of object recognition is a complicated one and as yet no definite answer has been found. There are many different supporting and conflicting evidence for the large number of theories for object recognition. The problem, which raises more questions than answers is that of object recognition from different viewpoints.
