Food Testing Lab Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to determine the existence of various organic molecules including carbohydrates, lipids and proteins in different types of foods. There were only three tests that gave wrong or slightly incorrect results. One was the test for starch. The result for that test was that the solution turned black. That meant that there was starch present, even though my research proved the contrary. The second test was to see if there are lipids present in orange juice. The result in that test was that when the juice dried on the newspaper, it made the paper slightly transparent. That was a sign of lipids being present. However, in...
