Botany Explored
What is Botany?
Botany examines the science of plants.
Botany will look at the growth and structure of plants as well as reproduction, development and possible diseases that can afflict plants.
Why Study Botany?
It is believed that Botany is one of the oldest forms of scientific study, when ancient tribes used a form of botany to discover which plants were edible and which were poisonous.
Studying plants can lead to new medical discoveries.
Botany... What Comes Next?
GCSE students looking to pursue a career in Botany can go on to become horticulturalists, greenhouse technicians, researchers, educators and of course, botanists.
