YEAR 10 An Investigation to Compare the Biotic and Abiotic Factors in an Area of Coppiced Woodland and an Area of Uncoppiced Woodland Plan Like any other experiment, this experiment must undertake safety precautions, because it could be quite dangerous. Being in the woods would mean being aware of where one should be stepping e.g. stinging nettles, twigs poking out, etc. If the pen method was used to find the location of the quadrant should be placed, the pen should not just be thrown in any direction without looking around as it could hit someone. The experiment must be carried out in a fair way otherwise the results will not be accurate at all. This will be done in a co-ordinate method with which 10 random co-ordinates will be given. e.g. if the co-ordinates(16.3,16.9) were given, then one person would walk 16.3m length ways and the other walk...
