Introduction The aim of this piece of coursework is to investigate what impact Freeport is having on the town centre and what the sphere of influence is for these places. Freeport Braintree and the town centre are located in the south east of England (fig 10). As you can see from figure 11, it has a direct route to the M11 and therefore into London. This is the same for Freeport. It is in the county of Essex, which is north east of London. Freeport has easy access from London by using the M11 to Junction 8 for the A120, and then it is sign posted. This data would be useful to some one who owns a shopping area like George yard in Braintree. The owner would then know which type of company to advertise too.
