How critical a factor was preaching to the success of the Reformation in Germany? The aim of this essay is to discuss and analyze the role in that preaching played during the German Reformation. It has to be said that preaching helped to a great extent to spread the thoughts, ideas and main teachings of the Reformation. Preaching became a hugely important event and if Luther had not used it to the extent he did, the spread of Lutheranism may not have been as successful. The ideas in this essay will try and get the message across that one of Luther's main conversion methods and how he was to win people over was through his sermons when he preached.
