There are distinct similarities and differences between the rationalist planning theory and equity and empowerment. Planning is an important part and towns and cities, it emphasises law and order within countries. The government has a great influence as to how towns and cities should be constructed. However over recent years national planning aims have been discarded and there is a new approach by focusing on deregulation and privatisation. Governments planning aims are changing towards a more relaxed approach by allowing planning to take its own course.
