This assignment will attempt to explore how Doncaster has developed since the early 18th century up to date. The main focus will be how far communications have helped in the development of Doncaster. The assignment has been separated into the following periods: Georgian (1714-1837), Victorian (1837-1901), inter war (1918-1939), post war (1945-1970) and the late 20th century (1970-present day). Although Doncaster has experienced major developments since the 1700s, it must be noted and recognised that developments before this have played some part in making Doncaster the town it is today; such developments even go back as far as the Roman period.
