The reliability of them should not be taken too lightly. The person taking the inventory directly affects the results. Let us use Jack and Jill. Jack will be the person taking the personality inventory and Jill will be the person analyzing his answers. Jill must presume that when Jack took the inventory, he was completely honest in answering the questions. However, Jill will never know how honest Jack was. Only he can tell you that. Then again, how would she know that Jack was telling the truth about how honest he was when he answered the questions? Well, that is where Jill is going to have to take his word for it.
