Language, a Way of Acquiring Knowledge Language is one of the main methods used to acquire knowledge. It is a way of communication, through which information can be exchanged and thought can be formed. This means, that language sometimes influences thought, as it allows people to visualize a mental image of the subject. One might also obtain meaning by applying this way of knowing, and truly process more and more understanding of the surrounding world. Although some problems in meaning may arise, language is a very vital criterion in attaining knowledge. Language exists in many forms, where every type of communication allows a person to reach a certain level in knowledge.
