According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, knowledge is defined as the circumstance or condition of apprehending truth or fact through reasoning.1 Knowledge is gained through direct experience, skills and knowledge claims. The sources of knowledge are instinct, reason and intuition. In this essay I intend to discuss how gained knowledge and sources of knowledge vary according to age, education, and cultural backgrounds. There is a lot of knowledge gained through direct experience. For instance personal familiarity; I know where my undergarments are. I am an adolescent; therefore, because of my age I have become very familiar of where I put them. However, a toddler may not and thus has to rely on a parent or guardian to get their undergarments for them. I believe that to a certain extent,
