The extraordinary man, on the other hand, is able to transgress the law and pave his own way" In 'Crime and punishment' by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and 'Metamorphosis' by Franz Kafka there is very strong portrayal of guilt throughout the books which show the growing and decaying characters of Gregor and Raskolnikov which are shown through various symbols . The authors achieve this by using a very desperate tone to begin with and developing it into a much more complex tone with now complex Gregor and Raskolnikov undergoing this huge transformation.
