Social, Historical, and Cultural There are many reasons why Lorca decided to write blood wedding, one being that most of the plays and poetry he had written are similar as they involve society. Lorca sees society as being the reason why people do not do as they wish but do as they should. Lorca was born in a village called Fuente Vaqueros; this may also be another reason why his writing was more to do with the quite countryside. Another reason being he was born in Spain therefore; most of his influences were from Spain (the flowers and the traditions). Lorca had read an article, which was about a women running away with another man on her wedding day, and the husband killing her and her lover, this is very much what happens in blood wedding. Another reason maybe Lorca was expressing himself through the play, showing his feelings toward love,...
