Cindy Riegelmann English 101-00 November 5, 2005 Professor Baughman You Can't Always Get What You Want Nancy Mairs is a woman that was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of twenty-eight. She has fully accepted her illness, and does not let her disease get in the way of living her life. MS has many symptoms that include loss of vision, hearing, speech, the ability to walk, potency, coordination of movements- the list is endless, however Mairs points out that the easiest thing for one to lose is their sense of humor, and that it is the hardest to get back. Mairs has experienced many of these symptoms however; her sense of humor is one that refuses to lose.
