Who in your opinion contributed the most to improving the lives of British women? Explain your answer. I think that Sylvia Pankhurst contributed to improving the lives of women the most, as she unrecognisably fought not only for the right to vote for her gender, but also for socialism for working class women. From a young age, she inherited her strong social beliefs from her father Dr Richard Pankhurst, and remained faithful to them throughout her life. She first began working for the WSPU to help her mother fight for the right to vote and socialism for women. Due to activities she became involved in with the Labour party, she served her first of many periods in prison, where she endured several hunger strikes and force feedings. Sylvia was a very talented writer, and in 1911, her book "The History of Women's Suffrage Movement" was published. Although she was committed to...
