What do you think is the purpose of youth work? The term youth work is not a straight forward term to describe, as the term youth work can cover a vast variety of activities with many different experiences and outcomes. These organisations and agencies which are considered to be part of the youth service are constantly changing which also adds to the difficulty of defining a single purpose of youth work. This essay shall explore the term "Youth Work" and attempt to define a specific purpose for its application. Throughout a child's life, contact with a number of agencies and organisations is inevitable and with each these different agencies comes a different experience some of which will be positive and others negative. Nevertheless the young person is learning from there own experiences within society.
