Discuss The 1970s and 1980s were seen as a significant period in Australia's history when the feminist movement became more active and had an effect on the status of women in society and the workplace. This movement was symbolised by the change of attitudes and practices within society and the workplace as the image or stereotype of the average women had been challenged. The movement also sought to remove the barriers that divided society into gender-based divisions. Through ideas present in Germaine Greer's book, 'The Female Eunuch' and Anne Summer's, 'Damned Whores and God's police,' they influenced the attitudes of society and led to changes in legislation for women in the workplace.
