She is an considered an individualist because she believes in the primary importance of an individual and values self-reliance and personal independence. In this novel, the concept of individualism is deeply explored. It is centered around a strange society which has many difficult laws to follow. The story starts out with Equality 7-2521. He is a human being in a society sometime in our future. There is been some sort of catastrophic event that has restructured the whole society. In this society, everyone exists for the good of the whole and has a single task for their entire life. They do not have names and the word "I" has been banished from the language.
