Hypothesis / Aim (106) This study is to discover whether "attitudes towards homosexuality have become more liberal, or has homosexuality remained labelled as being deviant". I am interested in this area of study as over time single-parent families and other life trends have become accepted in society from being socially deviant to a 'lifestyle choice' whereas homosexuality has been a taboo subject in research. I am going to look at the deviance theory and the concept of lifestyle choices to discover whether homosexuality is becoming acceptable in society today. My hypothesis is that homosexuality is still not accepted in society and is still strongly seen as an act of deviance.
