In what way does Ridley Scott play with the idea of the action hero in the film 'Thelma and Louise'? Ridley Scott presents the idea of the action hero in an interesting way. Firstly he presents the idea by breaking the tradition or the stereotype of the action heroes. He uses women 'feminine' as action hero rather then male, which are typically found in action's films. Also the characters played in the story are normal social class family people with standard life style, which is indeed in contrast to characters found in action movies. In actions films heroes have tragic background or some sort of mystery, something that influences them to take some action like taking revenge to someone or to solve a mystery.
