Social Stratification In terms of social mobility over generations my family has moved up per se as opposed to their parents. My parent's parents' were lower class. They lived paycheck to paycheck and didn't know where their next meal was going to come from. My parents are of the working class so they have experienced social mobility but its not big move as would upper class would be. In lecture Dr. Pintar told us that social mobility is best done over generations because it's hard for parents to go back to school or do something drastic to better their social class so they pass it on to their children to move up in social class. And for this reason 20 years from now I plan to be in a different social class than my parents are in; Because of education and the type of career I plan to have I will...
