Lorenc Jaho Introduction to Sociology Prof. Swift March 19,2003 Globalization and Society We all read in everyday bases articles about global economy, global culture, and globalization in general. For this assignment I found very interesting to write about something I read many years ago in my local newspaper. My college professor, named Dr. Ibrahim Kola, wrote it. Its topic was globalization. The title, as far as I remember, was "Globalization and third world countries". I will try to put down into words what the professor mentioned and at the same time I'll give my own opinion. Now days, I think, I have a better view and understanding of the global society than I had ten years ago back in my country. During those years in my country (which was totally dominated by communist, anti-american and anti-western ideology) any sociologist who studied globalization, like the writer of this article, preferred to call it "McDonaldisation"...
