For that reason, I am going to have to say that I favor learner- centered instruction. I believe that students will learn and understand a concept better if they are guided toward it, as opposed to being lectured. Many cannot listen to a lecture. Also, the teacher could be moving too fast and students would get lost in it. It is like a poster that hung in one of my high school classrooms, "Tell me and I'll forget. Show me and I might remember. Involve me and I will remember." I have carried this quote in my heart ever since I decided to be a teacher. I even found out that it is an ancient Chinese Proverbs.
