1 Centuries ago, women were perceived as inferior to men and they were oppressed by men. They were looked down on and had a defined role, which is to be a slave to men in the home. Since then, there have been advancements in the world of women due to the work of feminists. They realized that in the past women had been greatly ignored and so they started to offer ways of change related with the feminist perspective. Therefore, according to the dictionary definition, it is "the full social, political and economic equality of men and women."1Feminism is a general term used to describe a very broad and complex ideology. There are lots of different feminist theories and approaches.
