Adolescence in Society Society assumes that teenagers are not responsible enough to coordinate activities to benefit a city. Most people say that most adolescence are irresponsible and not capable of taking on jobs that of an adult. Contradictory to this stereotype, is Brian Johnsrud, 17, a Big Sandy, MT High School senior. October 27th, 2001, marked the 11th annual Make a Difference Day, a national day of volunteering created by USA Weekend Magazine. It is held each year in Big Sandy, MT on the fourth Saturday in October. An adolescent coordinated this day for his hometown organizing an array of activities and getting over a 100 volunteers to sign up and help. Many people, adolescence and adults alike, will surely look to this young man as an outstanding citizen and role model. This is behavior that is expected of someone who holds a particular status.
