A comparison and contrast between "Beauty and the Bloke", by Cosmo Landesman and "Breadwinners", by Caroline Harris. Both of these articles explore how the social roles of men and women are changing in today's society. In Breadwinners, it says "woman as breadwinner, man as king of the domestic sphere" and in Beauty and the Bloke it shows how men are becoming more feminine, and women are taking similar roles to men. The Breadwinners article is very politically correct and matter of fact, because the writer uses little imagery and descriptive writing to address the reader, except once, "The twin bulldozers of young women's rapidly rising expectations". Whereas Beauty and the Bloke is full of imagery and descriptions, "some grey, older geezer with bad skin, black bags beneath his tired eyes and more lines than British Rail running across his face".
