WELTON ACADEMY A Letter to John Keating from a student in his class from the move Dead Poets Society February 18, 2003 Dear Captain, My Captain, I cannot tell you how much we have all missed you here at Welton over the past month since your departure. The death of Neil was quite shocking to most of the boys here, especially those of us who are members of the dead poet society and who considered ourselves to be his best friends. Never in my life had I expected Neil to take his own life - he seemed so happy and must have hid his problems well. There are many rumors around the school concerning the reasons for his suicide but none imply you had any involvement.
