... 'All People are the Same and Should be treated the same' This statement seems to summarise the ideas of a free democratic society, typically western and modern. The statement states generally that all people are exactly the same and should be treated exactly the same as others - implying all people should have equal rights in a law. All people have the same moral responsibilities and treatment of all should remain consistent. The statement suggests that non-discrimination is the same as treating people exactly the same. Many varied responses to this statement can be produced, which can clearly be seen as very ambiguous in argument. A Christian view would be that all people are created equal before God. Again - status, wealth, race, creed do not matter and is not of concern. The view expressed in the statement therefore supports the major Christian view on prejudice: "Love thy neighbour as thyself," regardless
