... What aspects of Nelson Mandela's thinking strike you as most interesting and how far can this be seen from his experience in prison? Nelson Mandela was imprisoned on Robben Island for thirty years and during this time, during the "dark years" as he puts it, he was among the greatest hero's of South Africa, for Robben Island, thought it is a prison, is a prison of great people, all who have been imprisoned for their "dangerous ideas". With this experience, added to his believe of the true spirit and wealth of the African people was perhaps what made him believe so truly and struggle so hard to accomplish the "transformation" of South Africa. Nelson Mandela knew his struggle would not be an easy one, he knew the hardships and difficulty that lay before his path, but he was prepared for them and as he said " the brave man is
