... Larisa Merrell World History/World Lit. Kindler/Robinson Due Sept. 16, 2002 The Start of Judaism Modern day Jews trace their religious history through the ancient Hebrews to Abram. Abram was chosen by The Lord to establish Judaism and the Hebrew Culture. God prophesized many events in the Hebrew culture to Abram, here is an example; Abram's descendents, the Hebrews, would be enslaved for hundreds of years, but God planned to punish the country that imprisoned them and set them free. Abram was tested by God and made many covenants with God, such as the Covenant of Circumcision. For many years Judaism was the main religion, and it all started with Abram. Abram believed the proposal that The Lord created all living things and every afterlife spirits. He understood the ethics and morals of the religion, and that God let everyone make their own decision's and not judge them, but he would hold them responsible for
