... The Eucharist A) I have to cover three different sections in this piece of coursework. The three sections are: * Describing a Mass in a Roman Catholic Church; * Explain the importance for Catholics of regularly attending Mass; * Do I agree with the statement - 'Praying to God in Private is more important than attending services at Church.' The Eucharist is the Christian word used to describe the Mass. 'Eucharist' means 'thanksgiving' and is a good name for the celebration of the sacred meal. As Jesus gave thanks for the bread and the wine which are the fruits of the harvest, so do Christians. There is also a deeper spiritual thanksgiving for the gift that Jesus made of himself at the last supper and on the cross.
