The Amish

... Where do they live? The Amish people live in 22 different states of America and in Canada and Ontario. Amish people want nothing more than to be left alone but for most of the Amish they have accepted that tourism is something they cannot change. So far the Amish lifestyle has not been changed due to tourism, but some of the Amish have moved out of Lancaster county partly because of high land prices and partly because of tourism. Although some have decided to open shops and make a profit out of tourism. What do they live like? The Amish are groups of German emigrants who came to the United States after 1863 they settled in the southeastern area of Pennsylvania. Because of their rural life and segregated religious communities they kept their High German dialect that was not mixed with English.
