Discrimination is the restrictive treatment of a person or group based on prejudiced assumptions of group characteristics, rather than on individual judgment. It is the denial of justice prompted by prejudice. Social insecurity is a source of different distributions of health and well-being. In most societies, race and ethnicity are viewed as principal determinants of access to social status, Physical and mental health and addictions services. Visible minority immigrants are particularly vulnerable to systemic, personal discrimination and prejudice, with serious psychological consequences resulting from unfair treatments. Racism and discrimination are stressful events that adversely affect health and mental health. They place minorities at risk for mental disorders such as depression and anxiety. Emotional needs are needs that are expressed as feelings. These feelings can become affected when discrimination is involved which may cause the
