... Exploring Ethnicity and Nationalism Eden Simpson 1. Identify and briefly explain two ways in which Item A challenges the idea of a single British National Identity. Item A discusses that the priority for most young Muslim Women born and brought up in Britain is subscribing to a "British" Identity. This already mentions the fact that there or more than one religion influencing British people, and therefore are many different forms of British identities. Item A also talks of Afro-Caribbean's which are British, and other ethnic nationalities like Chinese all integrate into British culture. Item A challenges the Idea of a single British idea when it says; "Muslim women born and brought up in Britain", "British born Afro-Caribbean's find it difficult to accept themselves as British". It mentions different ethnicities which have been involved with British culture, whether the individuals accept themselves as British this source of evidence claims that there is clearly more
